Silk Care Guide

With the right care, your Amora Silk pillowcase and sleep mask will stay soft, smooth and beautiful for years. Silk is a delicate natural fibre, so a little extra attention makes a real difference.

Washing by hand (recommended)

Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water (max. 30°C) and add a small amount of mild, pH-neutral detergent made for silk or delicates. Turn the item inside out, gently swirl it for 3–5 minutes, then rinse well in cool water.

Washing by machine

Turn the pillowcase inside out and place it in a mesh laundry bag. Use a cold delicate or silk cycle (max. 30°C) with a low spin. Wash with similar colours, and keep it away from items with zips, hooks or rough fabrics. We recommend hand washing your sleep mask.

Detergent

Use a mild, pH-neutral detergent suitable for silk. Avoid bleach, fabric softener and biological or enzyme detergents, as these can weaken silk fibres and dull the sheen.

Drying

Never wring or twist silk. Gently press out excess water by rolling it in a clean towel. Lay flat or hang to dry in a well-ventilated spot, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not tumble dry.

Ironing

If needed, iron on the reverse side on a low silk setting while the fabric is still slightly damp, or use a garment steamer. Avoid spraying water directly onto the silk.

Storage

Store your silk clean and fully dry, in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. A breathable cotton pouch is better than airtight plastic.

Good to know

Silk is a natural fibre, so the first wash may release a little dye: wash darker colours separately the first time. Keep silk away from rough surfaces and sharp objects that could snag the fabric. Silk-friendly hair and skin products help keep your pillowcase looking its best.
